Note: these are the terms and conditions when you receive support directly from Kraan and Richards GmbH (KRI). If you have a support agreement with one of our resellers, the terms and conditions of the reseller apply.

When you join the support program, you pay a fee for 12 months of support. At the end of this period, the program will automatically be renewed for an additional 12 months, unless the program is cancelled by you or by KRI at least one month before it expires.

KRI reserves the right to adapt the annual support fee in response to changing cost factors. The current annual support fee can be found on the KVS web site http://www.school-admin.biz,  Planned changes to the support fee will be published on the website at least two months in advance.

The support fee entitles one school site to support. If your school has more than one site, that is, if KVS is installed on more than one server, then each site must pay a separate support fee.

Features of support

Free updates. You may download updates of the same program version (3.x to 3.y) from the KVS website free of charge and purchase upgrades to higher program versions (3.x to 4.y) at special conditions. Upon payment of the support fee and receipt of your installation details, KRI will provide you with a new license key that enables you to install these updates.

Email support. We will answer your questions pertaining to the use of the KVS program as specified by your license agreement by email; questions may be submitted in writing, by fax or by email. You must follow the instructions for submitting support questions published on the KVS website. We generally answer questions within one business day.

Responsibilities of the Customer

Suitable computer systems. You are responsible for maintaining suitable, properly configured computer systems. Problems related to hardware, operating systems, or software other than KVS, are specifically excluded from the support program.

Access to data. For complex problems, KRI may require access to your data. Providing access to your data is your responsibility and at your expense, and the data must be provided in a format agreed with KRI. One solution is to give KRI the capability to log in to your server via modem using pcAnywhere (Version 9 or later). In this case, you will need to configure an account with administrator privileges for use by KRI, and pcAnywhere must be configured for callback to a number we specify.

Limitations of Support

Support is offered only for the current and last two published updates of the KVS.

KRI offers additional services such as installation, training, consulting, and individual adaptations of the program. These additional services are not included in the support program.

Any waiver or amendment to these terms must be in writing and signed by both you and KRI.

The support program is governed by Swiss law. The jurisdiction for any disputes arising from the support program lies with the competent courts at the registered office of KRI in Schönenwerd, Switzerland.
