Planning for accounting

One of the most important advanced features of KVS is its ability to export accounting transactions to your accounting software. While this feature brings many long-term benefits, we do not recommend using this feature until you and your personnel are comfortable with KVS.

As you learn KVS, you will inevitably make mistakes - the last thing you need is for these to be entered into your company accounts!

Hence, when you start using KVS, we recommend that you select the tab-delimited accounting export. KVS will then export all transactions in a format that can be read by any standard office program, for example, by Excel. You can then review the data and enter it into your accounts manually. This will also give you a feel for what information KVS exports to accounting software.

When you are comfortable with KVS, you can then switch to a direct export into your accounts. How exactly this works depends on the accounting package - please read the corresponding documentation under Options:Accounting.
