Edit Forms

Some types of data are too complex to edit in a register. For example, an address contains a wide range of information - far to complex to comfortably edit on a single line. Hence, when creating or editing addresses, the register shows only the most important portions of an address. A separate edit form opens when the user creates or edits an address, in order to display the complete address information.

You can see an example of the address edit-form below. Note that all fields are gray - gray fields are locked, meaning that they cannot be changed. In order to edit the information in this record, one must first press the "Edit" button on the toolbar. Fields that can be changed will then be highlighted with a white background. Note: colors may differ on you system if you have changed the standard color settings.

The situation is slightly more complex when creating a new record. Some fields are critical, and must be defined first. Hence, these fields will be unlocked first and - once completed and confirmed by pressing the "Accept" button - the remaining fields will be unlocked Critical fields can not be changed once you have pressed "Accept".
