Courses
The course window represents all information about a single course.
When you define a new course, you select the course name, subject, type and
start-date. These items cannot later be changed. The start date must be in the
future. (If you need to enter a course that starts on the same day you enter it,
you will have to enter an additional event).
In addition, the course form
has the following fields:
- Duration/week represents the usual number of lessons that the course will
meet - this is used when KVS needs to forecast the courses future level.
- Expenses per event is the additional reimbursement given to a teacher each
time the course meets. For example, if the course takes place outside the
school, and the teacher drives to the course location, this could be
reimbursement for the teacher's mileage.
- The course level represents the courses current difficulty or degree of
advancement. This may be, for example, a chapter number in a book. The
second field represents the expected course progress per lesson (not per
event).
- Uses additional media - KVS uses this when recommending rooms for course
events.
- Open course - if checked, then KVS can recommend this course to other
students in the course-counseling window. Otherwise, KVS assumes that this
course is not open to further students. If you try to enter a new booking,
KVS will warn you that the course is closed.
