ConceptsKVS support five "privilege levels" - four as shown in the login window, and a fifth for teachers and students. The higher the privilege level, the more functionality is enabled in KVS. Here are the four levels shown in the login window, along with their meanings:
| Basic | Intended for people just learning KVS - one can basic view data, but can change almost nothing. Financial and sensitive data is hidden |
| Standard | The normal working level for KVS. Basic data can be changed and financial data viewed, sensitive data is hidden. |
| Accounting | The accounting level can change all data except password and database options, e.g., system-wide parameters such as bonuses, prices and salaries. |
| Management | Full access to all KVS features, including the ability to set login passwords for all four levels and to change database options. |
