From this page you can download the current version of KVS. If you are already a KVS/4 user, and wish to update to a more recent version, you may wish to visit the support pages to download an update rather than an entire new install package.

KVS stores data using Microsoft SQL Server, and is compatible with all versions beginning with SQL Server 2000. You can use the free "MSDE 2000" edition, or any later version. If you prefer, you can use SQL Server 2005 Express instead of MSDE 2000. However, please read the information in the Support FAQ first. We suggest that you have a qualified IT person install your database server.

Download KVS

If you are installing KVS for the first time, you may also wish to read a description of the sample data KVS can install for you.

Demo Installation

For a demo, we recommend that you install SQL Server and KVS on the same client PC. This eliminates any problems configuring SQL Server in a network (which can be complex).

Final installation

For a final installation, SQL Server should be installed on a central server, with KVS installed on all client PCs. KVS does not need to be installed on the server.

Server configuration

• Windows 2000, XP or Vista - or Windows Server 2003.

• SQL Server 2000 (any version, including MSDE 2000), or SQL Server 2005 (any version)

Client configuration

• 1GHz processor with 256MB RAM, Windows 2000, XP or Vista. Screen resolution 1280x1024.
